Detroit Metro Airport North Terminal Redevelopment Project


Applied Power and Controls, Inc. was an active member of Commissioning Team for the North Terminal Redevelopment Project located at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Romulus Michigan. The North Terminal consists of a twenty-six (26) gate terminal complex. Our duties consisted of commissioning services for Electrical and Fire Alarm Systems. Specific tasks included review of design documents, shop drawings, development of site specific commissioning forms, and site investigations. Performed functional commissioning activities, complete documents for final commissioning manual including O & M manuals for the team and client training. Performed extensive functional testing on the (2) two 1000KW Caterpillar Emergency Generators, nine (9) automatic transfer switches manufacture by ASCO, twelve (12) ABB VFD’s, lighting and heat trace systems. Actively involved with seasonal testing, as needed. Worked well with all Team Members including Lead Firm (Albert Kahn), Wayne County Airport Personnel, Design Team, Construction Managers and various Trade Personnel (Electrical and Mechanical).
