Applied Power and Controls, Inc. (APC) was retained by Shelborne Development to investigate the reasons why it experienced a loss of power at the River Terrace Apartments Building Number 7726. The electrical distribution system for the complex is radial feed from local utility DTE Energy. The feeds are at primary voltage level 4800V and stepped down through various transformers and then subfeeds throughout the complex. The primary voltage from DTE enters Building 7710 and is stepped down to 120/208V via three (3) single phase 100KVA transformers located in the electrical vault. The secondary of the transformers are connected in a WYE configuration and feed overhead bus into the MLO distribution switchgear. Our analysis and findings were compiled in a detailed report which assisted the client in preparation for their short term needs and long range plans.
